Care & sizing

Keeping it bright

Rhodium-plated sterling silver is durable but not invincible. Three habits will keep a piece looking new for years, and the fourth thing on this list is free anyway.

Daily wear

Put jewellery on last β€” after perfume, hairspray and lotion, all of which attack plating. Take it off before swimming; chlorine is the fastest way to dull rhodium. Showering in it is fine occasionally and unwise as a routine.

Cleaning

Warm water, a drop of unscented washing-up liquid, a soft toothbrush behind the stone where the film builds up. Dry with a lint-free cloth. Never use a silver-polishing cloth or dip β€” they are abrasives designed to strip tarnish, and they will strip rhodium with it.

Storage

Dry, dark, separate. Moissanite is a 9.25 on Mohs, which means your stones will happily scratch every other piece in the box. Keep them in the pouch they arrived in.

Re-plating

All rhodium wears through eventually, usually first on the underside of a ring band. Send it back and we re-plate it free, for as long as the piece is yours. See The Circle.

Ring sizing

We list US sizes 5 to 9. To measure at home: wrap a strip of paper around the base of the finger, mark where it overlaps, and measure the length in millimetres.

US 549.3 mm circumference
US 651.9 mm
US 754.4 mm
US 857.0 mm
US 959.5 mm

Measure at the end of the day, when fingers are at their largest. If you are between sizes, go up β€” and remember the first resize is free.

Chain & bracelet lengths

16" sits at the base of the neck, 18" just below the collarbone (the most ordered), 20" at the top of the sternum and layers well over the 16". Bracelets: 16cm fits a slim wrist, 18cm is standard, 20cm wears loose on purpose.
